Building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter in El Paso County.
Founded in 1981, Habitat for Humanity of El Paso is one of the oldest Habitat affiliates in Texas. Habitat is dedicated to providing affordable housing to people in El Paso County.
We do this by recruiting and involving companies and volunteers that generously contribute their time, talents, materials and money to build and renovate houses for low income families.
Habitat for Humanity of El Paso provides a "hand up", not a "handout". We do not provide housing for free, rather we make the cost of housing and financing more affordable to those who are able to take on a mortgage payment. They must also be willing to contribute their own time and labor to the effort.
Access to safe and affordable homes breaks the generational cycle of poverty, contributes to academic success and college attendance, and improves the local economy.
